Saturday, July 25, 2026 (2:00 PM - 6:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Foraging Wild Medicinals class is offered at Balsam Moon Preserve on Saturday, July 25, 2-6pm with Stacey Quade guiding.  This class is sure to please as participants will learn about the variety and abundance of wild medicinals we often think of as weeds and nuisance plants.  We'll learn respectful practices, and head out to forage some of nature’s aids for wellness and then make some tinctures and learn about uses, processing and applications.
Quade will focus on familiar plants (weeds) and herbs found in your yard and woods around you. She’ll note first aid plants and herbs packed with nutrition, that nature plants for you.  Plants and herbs found in your yard and the woods around you such as yarrow, plantain, mullein, nettles, goldenrod, horsetail, and more have much to offer and will be identified.  She'll aid in identifying uses to add to your meals, basic nutrients and herbal first aid.

Stop mosquito bites from itching!  Take the sting out of bee stings.  Chew on this ... to settle tummy upset.  Learn about "helpers" for cuts, scrapes and bruises.  And there are many plants/herbs to aid with healing colds, flu, & allergies.
Part of our time together will be presentation, foraging and make 'n take tinctures, and some taste sampling like Anise Hyssop Tea which not only tastes lovely, it also aids in respiratory and digestive wellness.
